Loneliness is a national crisis — and for people with developmental disabilities, the risk is twice as high. OSG is changing that by pairing access to affordable housing with strong, connected communities.
We’ve helped 70 people find homes across seven inclusive housing communities in Northern Virginia. As residents settle in, they discover what it means to be neighbors — building friendships, trying new things, and finding their voice as self-advocates. Through oodles of free, inclusive events each week, a vibrant mix of OSG peers, families, and friends — nearly 500 people who aren’t residents themselves — weave together the powerful grassroots network we call OSG. That’s why our reach is so broad and our communities so strong.
It all adds up fast. Nearly 1,000 events this year (what?!) have created daily chances to practice inclusion — planning social activities, learning new skills, navigating transportation, and gaining the confidence to live interdependently. These individual steps — dare we say stomps — add up to something much bigger.
